Ted is a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania and of St. John’s University School of Law. Mr. Abruzzo, who is admitted to practice in the State of New York, brings over 25 years of expertise to the firm in the areas of Freddie Mac Optigo multifamily lending, Fannie Mae DUS multifamily lending, conduit lending, affordable and tax credit housing finance, the acquisition, participation, syndication and sale of pools of real property and seasoned loans, portfolio based/balance sheet and commercial real estate lending, and over 35 years of expertise in sophisticated commercial leasing transactions, cooperative and condominium law, and general real estate law. Prior to the founding of the predecessor firm of Weissmann Abruzzo LLP, Mr. Abruzzo was a partner at Fenton & Goldman LLP, a partner at Cassin Cassin & Joseph LLP, a senior associate at Kurzman Karelsen & Frank LLP, and an associate at Haberman & Dandola LLP.

Ms. Popatia, who is admitted to practice in the State of New York, brings over ten years of expertise to the firm and focuses her practice on representation of lenders in connection with multifamily commercial loans intended for sale and securitization in the secondary mortgage market under the Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer, and Freddie Mac Optigo Small Balance Loan programs. Ms. Popatia also helps lenders in developing their bridge loan programs to finance multifamily properties that are not yet ready for agency origination.
